Spring mousetraps are one of the cheapest and most available on the market. It is usually made of the small piece of plastic or wood; it has the spring, clamp and the place for the bait, intended to lure the mice.
The mouse, attracted by food, approaches the mousetrap. When it touches the food, the spring pulls off and throws the clamp, killing the mouse. These mousetraps can be reused to fight the rodents after the emptying.
The mousetraps are characterized by the light weight and include a pair of plastic jaws. They run on the compressed spring, whose mechanism triggers the movement of jaws. Every moment affects mousetrap. The bait is put into the “jaws”, and once the mouse touches the trap, the jaws slam shut, killing the last one.
Electronic mousetraps are the latest form of traps, using the electricity for killing the mice. These traps represent the box constructions, using the electrical circuit. The food is stored inside, and when the mouse enters the box, it produces something like an electric chair.
There are some mousetraps, intended to catch mice alive. These traps are solution to the problem, if you prefer to get rid of mice without killing them. You can set the caught mice free.
If you use such traps, you should check them on time to let the caught mice out. Otherwise, the mouse can die from dehydration or stress. Also, make sure that you take the mice as far away as you can, or else they can come back due to the good home instinct.
Sticky traps use the synthetic or natural glue for catching mice. It is applied on the plastic or wooden tray, in the center of which you must put some food. When the rodent reaches the food, it gets trapped on the tray surface, which excludes the possibility of its further displacement. The mice die of asphyxiation, hunger and dehydration.
The mouse, glued to the tray, doesn’t die instantly. Its death is incredibly slow. Therefore, the animal rights activists think that this kind of trap make the mice suffer too much.
These mousetraps can be used for catching and killing mice. They are similar to the other traps, with the difference that they have wheels.
